Pressed tin bed head
Sometimes we concentrate so hard on what we are putting on our walls we forget to get creative with our furnishings.
This is for those who don't like commitment to one style.
These are the bedheads that can easily be changed if your style is fashionable.
Window bedhead
Clever use of the Furniture placement in this room gives the bed a window bedhead.
Wrap fabric over your 4 poster.
This looks a little unfinished but you get the idea.
Simple but effective stencil above a very simple and effective padded bedhead.
Stencil from here.
Wicker bedhead can be used for a beach, Asian or rustic them.
I love the addition of the wicker rolled cushion on the bed.
1 piece of carefully chosen wallpaper.
Its time to mix it up.
This patchwork headboard is great for those who are not sure which style direction they want to take.
Decorative wood panels for ensemble beds create dramatic far away places to dream of.
I love these timber trees, flat cravings that are a perfect colour and great proportions for this room
Framed wallpaper panel
Venetian Mirrors or any mirror as a bedhead a little daring but still effective and great for small spaces.
I must warn you though, you will have to make sure your bed is always made....Perfectly
I love this old gate as a bedhead.
You can also add a curtain as a bedhead regardless of where your windows are.
Grab some amazing fabric and wrap some canvas's in it as backdrops.
Use an old set of carved doors as your backdrop
You may even find there is an old dining table top that may look better vertically.
Let me know of any other ideas we could add to this post.

Thanks for the lovely comment! The Beetle and Flor skull would make a gorgeous bookend in your study.
ReplyDeleteAnd that wallpaper headboard above is so gorgeous.

I agree with you! We can be just as creative with our furnishings as with our walls, and you found such great examples here. Love it!

Great post, it's got me thinking....
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, hope you had a fabulous holiday! I love the bed head examples... I am still not happy with our bedroom and I think the bed head could be the issue and the wall colour??? ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a timely post! We have a really chunky canadian maple bed, which I still love but is not particularly fashionable. I am trying (mostly in the interest of sustainable living - which can dampen ones decorating plans) to resist the temptation to replace it with someting a little more 'French hotel chic'. It is classic I guess, in a cottage, country kind of way so until my conscious will let me replace it, it is staying. I enjoyed this post and it certainly got me thinking!
ReplyDeleteX Briohny.
the patchwork style bed head is pretty unique. I actually featured that same pressed tin bedhead on my own blog a couple of months back - http://www.duckprint.com.au/blog/cat/dreaming-of/post/dreaming-of-bedheads/
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty amazing. Although I don't know if I could ever put something like that in my own room. I prefer to go wild with my doona cover. That way I can easily change things up when I get bored.
